A lot of people seem interested in ideas for packing lunches for kids so I am dedicating a whole page to it. I will try to take more pictures of our lunches on the mornings that we’re not chasing after the bus while trying to put snow pants on and sign permission slips all at the same time! I will just say that this is something that is still a work in progress for me. I am always on the lookout for items with clean ingredients (that my kids will actually eat) while still staying in our grocery budget.

Trader Joe’s whole wheat pita with hummus, Havarti cheese, and cucumber slices. Served with plain, unsweetened applesauce and celery with peanut butter and raisins (ants on a log).
Whole grain crackers, nitrate-free ham, cheddar cheese slices, cucumbers, carrots, sliced plum, and a honey-sweetened cranberry chocolate chip oatmeal cookie.
Food Should Taste Good Multi-grain Chips, guacamole, cheese cubes, carrots and snap peas, raspberries.
Leftover meatballs (made with grassfed beef and local free range ground pork), a spelt pupmkin chocolate chip muffin and organic apple slices.
Pasta Salad (with whole wheat spiral noodles & vinegar/olive oil/dill dressing), Monterrey Jack cheese cubes, and diced mango.
PB&J on whole wheat, carrots & peapods with homemade Ranch dip, popcorn, strawberry mango smoothie puree frozen in a silicon popsicle mold.
Leftover homemade whole wheat crust pizza (served cold), with carrots, organic strawberries, and PB Granola Bites (recipe on the blog).
Mini whole wheat bagel with organic cream cheese, bell pepper strips, popcorn, fruit salad with cantaloupe, raspberries, and mango.
Homemade vegetable soup, cold grilled cheese sandwich strips for dipping, and frozen mango cubes.
